Gods Word Is Truth

January

13Use every piece of God’s armor to resist the enemy in the time of evil, so that after the battle you will still be standing firm. 14Stand your ground, putting on the sturdy belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. 15For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News, so that you will be fully prepared. 16In every battle you will need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan. 17Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

spiritual growth

As soon as you begin to live the life of faith in God, fascinating and physically gratifying possibilities will open up before you.  These things are yours by right, but if you are living the life of faith you will exercise your right to waive your rights, and let God make your choice for you.

Whenever our right becomes the guiding factor of our lives, it dulls our spiritual insight.  The greatest enemy of the life of faith in God is not sin, but good choices which are not quite good enough.

Many of us do not continue to grow spiritually because we prefer to choose on the basis of our rights, instead of relying on God to make the choice for us.  We have to learn to walk according to the standard  which has its eyes focused on God.  And God says to us, as he did to Abram, . . . walk before me . . .” (Genesis 17:1).

My strength is My Lord

So restful is the evening time

When my busy day is done

I think about the years gone by

And those that are to come

My precious Lord will guide me

Tho the years sometimes seem long

I’ll never falter from His path

He will keep me from all wrong

Until the day that’s sure to come

When I’m standing at His side

My faith will keep me going

For I know I’ll never die.

Just You and Me God

 BY jUANITA pIKE

I  have a little sign on top of my computer that says "Lord , help me to remember that nothing is going to happen to me today , that You and I can't handle" .

We are soon entering a new year , 2001 . As God's people and as a nation , it is unknown land . We have not passed this way before . But as God's people , we know whatever the year holds , it is us and our God . Others can pray for us and with us , encourage us , but at the end of the day , it is just us and God .

Noah was chosen in his generation to do a work for God . God saw a righteous man in a wicked world.  God still sees the righteous in a wicked world . It is them and their God against the wickedness of the world .  Genesis  6 - 8

Abraham sought God not to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah . God said "if you find some righteous , I will not destroy the cities" . Abraham was an intercessor for the wicked cities , just him and God .  Genesis 18

Even though God sent Hagar into the wilderness , His eye was upon her and Ishmael . Genesis 16 : 10 - 11 . Friend , you may think you are in a wilderness , but remember God's eye is watching over you .

You are not alone , He knows all that is happening in your life . The weeping of a broken and troubled spirit , He knows . His eye was upon Israel for 40 years in the wilderness . Genesis 21 Exodus 14

Abraham was alone when God saw he was willing to give his all to God . Many have made vows in the presence of man and never carried them out . It is the vows we make in the Holy Presence of our God , alone and in the secret place of prayer and fellowship with Him , that truly counts . This is what He remembers about our vows . Ecclesiastes 5   Joseph like Job , had things happen to him , that they did not understand . But we know from God's Word , He was working in their lives . We as Blood Washed Saints of God , are not our own , we have
been bought with a price no man can count . All God is wanting to hear is "yes Lord , just You and me" .

Moses was chosen for a task that only could be guided by God . Moses had no one to lean on , but God . It was Moses and God , and that was enough .

Joshua had some big shoes to fill when he was called by God . When there was sin in the camp, Joshua went before God for an answer . Just him and his God , Joshua 7.

When all was saying "it is impossible" , Caleb stood and said "it is You and me God" . God had promised and Caleb believed Him . It is God's Word in our spirit that counts , Joshua 14.  A warrior stood his ground and he and God won the victory , 1 Samuel 23 : 8 - 12 .  It is you and God alone in every battle . He has given us "battle gear" , Ephesians 6 . It is faith in God that puts that "battle gear"
into action . A faith that holds fast in the midst of ever battle , saying "it is just You and me God" .

Hannah , sought God for herself . Man did not understand her , but her God did . Man is not always merciful when needs are breaking the heart , for they cannot always understand . But friend , we have a God that is merciful in whatever need we have . She sought God alone , just her and her God . 1 Samuel 1

Then there is Ruth , Nehemiah , Esther , Elijah , Hezekiah , David , Daniel , 3 Hebrews and many more . They had one thing in common , they bowed before their God , just them and Him .

In Acts , we see people in the upper room getting a fresh revelation of Jesus and was filled with the promise of the Father , the Holy Spirit , Acts 1 - 2. They feared nothing , they knew their God . It was them and their God against the evils of the world . Those people were not religious , they had come face to face with their God . Just them and their living God .

Paul knew what it was to bow before his God in all kinds of trouble . He received revelations that feed the Body of Christ today . All because he and God got together by the Holy Spirit . We must remember, these Saints of God in the past , was flesh and blood as we are . They knew that in all they did , it was them and their God .

At my spiritual birth , it was "Me and my God"

At my death , it will be "Me and my God"

At the judgment , it will be "Me and my God"

DEVOTION

COMMITMENT

The pressure of hard places makes us value life. Every time our life is given back to us from such a trial, it is like a new beginning, and we learn better how much it is worth, a make more of it for God and man.  The pressure helps us to understand the trials of others, and fits us to help and sympathize with them.

There is a shallow, superficial nature, that gets hold of a theory or a promise lightly and talks very glibly about the distrust of those who shrink from every trial; but the man or woman who has suffered much never does this, but is very tender and gentle, and knows what suffering really means.

Trials and hard places are needed to press us forward, even as the furnace fires press us forward, even as the furnace fires in the hold of that mighty ship give force that moves the piston, drives the engine, and propels that great vessel across the sea in the face of the winds and waves.

Words for Thought

One little act of kindness can have multiple results.

Money is a good servant , but poor a master.

Keep your eyes on the Lord – He never takes His eyes off you.

Time spent with the Lord is time well spent.

In changing world you can trust God’s unchanging word.

The more we serve Christ, the less we will serve self.

Failure is never final for those who begin again with God.

Drawing Spirit

by Juanita Pike

John 12 : 32 If I be lifted up from earth , I will draw all men unto Me .  I heard a statement that has troubled me very much . A person said "if I am in a gathering and I hear someone say "I am a Christian" , this person said "I will excuse myself from that gathering" . The question is "Why" ? They replied "I have seen arrogance and self righteousness among those who claim to be Christians and I want no part of it" .
This disturbed me and I asked the Holy Spirit for an answer . He quickly reminded me what Jesus said "if I be lifted up" . The Holy Spirit said "the only power that can draw souls to Jesus , is the Power of Divine Love" .    Just saying we believe in Jesus and expressing our beliefs , does not draw souls to Him . Jesus walked among mankind , teaching and doing the works of His Father . He came against a Pharisee spirit among religious folks . He came against those who had no belief at all .
It was the Power of Divine Love He had that drew huge crowds . They came to hear Him teach and see the mighty works of God .  That Love was humble , merciful , compassionate , full of grace and forgiveness . It was that Power that drew souls to Jesus and it is still that only Power that will draw souls to Him in the 21st century .
Those who have a "deep seated" experience in Jesus , can minister to souls without driving them away . Spiritual arrogance or an attitude of self-righteousness , is not God's Divine Love . I too have experienced a "holier than thou" spirit among folks that differ with me .
I am a Child of God by the Blood of Jesus as stated in John 3 : 5 - 8 . The in filling of the Holy Spirit as promised in Acts 1 and full filled in Acts 2 . Which is not a church doctrine but an experience with a Living God . I speak with what some call an unknown tongue , but it is only unknown by man . The Father , Son and the Holy Spirit knows the spirit language well . I have the Word of God alive in my spirit and it keeps me day by day . It is the Blood of Jesus that redeems a soul .
I know that all believers do not embrace this belief . I have not , nor will I ever tell others "I am right and you are wrong" . That is the ministry of the Holy Spirit of God to reveal the Truth . I have no power to get inside the spirit of mankind to plant the Word of God , but He does . Jesus sat down with what mankind considers the worse sinners . He never attacked those who differed with His teaching . He did what the Father instructed Him to do , all in the Divine Love of God .
I feel so deeply about how we minister to a lost and dying world . May the spirit of God show us this , "IT IS NOT what we say BUT it is WHAT the Spirit of God says through us, that counts" . It is the Love of God in a redeemed vessel  that draws souls to Jesus .
There was a minister that got up to preach and a weeping spirit came over Him . He laid his head on the Bible and wept in the Spirit and the altar was filled with people , with all kinds of needs . The drawing Power of God's Love used him for God's Glory . God needed no human voice to speak for Him , all He needed was a broken spirit .
The Spirit of God taught me many years ago , hardness is not holiness , nor is the Divine Love of God weakness . God's People have within their spiritual reach , a Power that can turn the world upside down and a church upside down . A soft , tender and loving spirit will cause souls to want Him , the King of Kings , Jesus Christ .
There will always be those who disagree in the family of God just like there is disagreement in the natural family . But we must teach , preach and minister our "deep seated" beliefs in the Power of God's Love . Then souls will be drawn to Him and those who never come to Him as their Savior , cannot say "no one showed me the Divine Love of God" . Please read and reread 1 Corinthians 13 .

DEVOTION

 TRUST

There are secrets of providence, which God’s dear children may learn.  His dealings with them often seem, to the outward eye, dark and terrible.  Faith looks deeper and says, “This is God’s secret.  You look only on the outside; I can look deeper and see the hidden meaning.”

Sometimes diamonds are done up in rough packages, so that their value cannot be seen.  When the tabernacle was built in the wilderness there was nothing rich in its outside appearance.  The costly things were all within, and its outward covering of rough badger skin gave no hint of the valuable things, which it contained.

God may send you, dear friends, some costly packages.  Do not worry if they are done up in rough wrapping.  You may be sure there are treasures of love, and kindness and wisdom hidden within.  If we take what He sends, and trust Him for the goodness in it, even in the dark, we shall learn the meaning of the secrets of providence.

Derivational Thoughts for on Commitment by A.B Simpson

One Moment  -  Please

That awful moment of truth is when we are confronted with facts, which we have tried to, but no longer can, deny.  For instance:  life is short and we fail to lengthen it.  Death is sure and we fail to avoid it.  Sin, the cause, and we fail to overcome it.  Christ , the cure, and we fail to accept it.  To avoid that awful moment of truth, make this moment a moment of triumph.  If you accept the cure, you will be forgiven your sin; you will have eternal life.  “the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”  (Romans 6:23)

Face that  moment of truth now.

  2. He touched the fevered mother-in-law of which disciple?
  3. He touched a boy suffering from which disease?
  4. He touched (washed) the feet of the people in which group?
  5. What problem did the woman have who touched his garment?
  6. Whose ear did Jesus touch and heal?
  7. Who did Jesus take in his arms and bless?
  8. What other problem did the epileptic boy have?

For a Christ like walk keep  in step with Christ.

When we put our cares in God’s hands He put His peace in our hearts.

To show His love, Jesus died for us; to show our love, we must live for Him!

Internal life is made possible by God’s internal love.

Nobody Walks Alone

Oft’ times when the highway of life seems rough

And all of your dreams have flown,

Just remember, wherever your road may go,

          Nobody walks alone.

When everyone else has let you down

          And under sins you groan,

Just keep reminding you burdened heart,

          Nobody walks alone.

Then suddenly you’ll feel His hand in yours,

And His eyes lifting up your own,

And you’ll hear His gentle, forgiving voice:

DEVOTION

PRAYER

Start spring out right; devote yourself to praying daily !

Remember there certain laws that govern prayer first:

1.     Prayer must be   done in Jesus’ name (John 14:13)

2.        In faith (Matthew 21:22)

3.        According to God’s will (1 John 5:14)

4.        With sincerity and earnestness (Matthew 7: 7-11)

5.        Sin in the heart is a hindrance to prayer (Psalms 66:18), as us disunity (1 Peter 3:7), and asking with wrong motives ( James 4:3)

Second, God does use human instruments and means for healing:

  1. Luke was a physician . (Colossian 4:14) and Paul prescribed a means by which Timothy could find relief from stomach difficulties 1 (1 Timothy 5:23)

Third , several in apostolic times were not miraculously healed.

1.        Paul sought healing, but God was not please to grant it  (2 Corinthians 12:7-10).

2.        Trophimus was not healed  (2 Timothy 4:20)

3.        When our Lord was at the pool of Bethesda, He chose to heal only one, though there was a multitude of sick and diseased people awaiting healing  (John 5:2-9)

Fourth, God often allows sickness that through it He might be glorified.

1.       That was the case with the blind man (John 9:3) and with the apostle Paul (2 Corinthians  12:9-10)

I urge you today to start to take time out to pray.  Join a prayer group in your church, it is the most uplifting feeling when you pray for others in your church.  Or join a prayer ministry on the Internet such as Let Us Pray 4 U Ministry.  If you would like to join my prayer ministry, send me a email saying I would like to be a Prayer Warrior.  Send the request top mailto:Pray.Without.Ceasing@letuspray4u.org  and I will add you to my list of  Prayer Warriors.  As soon as receive prayer I’ll send them to you.   I have been in prayer ministry for about 7 years now and I tell you that God has blessed me and my family in many ways.  So don’t delay another day without daily prayer.

Have a blessed month.

In Christ love,

Brother Gerald

You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, because the work of the Son brings glory to the Father. (John 14:13)

If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”  (Matthew 21:22)

And we can be confident that he will listen to us whenever we ask him for anything in line with his will.  (1 John 5:14)

7 “Keep on asking, and you will be given what you ask for. Keep on looking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened. 8For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And the door is opened to everyone who knocks. 9 You parents—if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead? 10Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not! 11If you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.  (Matthew 7:7-11)

If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, my Lord would not have listened.  (Psalm 66:18)

In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat her with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God’s gift of new life. If you don’t treat her as you should, your prayers will not be heard.  (1 Peter 3:7)

And even when you do ask, you don’t get it because your whole motive is wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure. (James 4:3)

Dear Doctor Luke sends his greetings, and so does Demas. (Colossian 4:14)

Don’t drink only water. You ought to drink a little wine for the sake of your stomach because you are sick so often. (1 Timothy 5:23)

Erastus stayed at Corinth, and I left Trophimus sick at Miletus.  (2 Timothy 4:20)

Inside the city, near the Sheep Gate, was the pool of Bethesda, with five covered porches. 3Crowds of sick people—blind, lame, or paralyzed—lay on the porches. 5One of the men lying there had been sick for thirty-eight years. 6  When Jesus saw him and knew how long he had been ill, he asked him, “Would you like to get well?”7“I can’t, sir,” the sick man said, “for I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred up. While I am trying to get there, someone else always gets in ahead of me.”8 _ Jesus told him, “Stand up, pick up your sleeping mat, and walk!”  9Instantly, the man was healed! He rolled up the mat and began walking! But this miracle happened on the Sabbath day.  (John 5:2-9)

“It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins,” Jesus answered. “He was born blind so the power of God could be seen in him.  (John 9:3)

Each time he said, “My gracious favor is all you need. My power works best in your weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may work through me. 10  Since I know it is all for Christ’s good, I am quite content with my weaknesses and with insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (2 Corinthians 12:9-10)

 APRIL Memory Verses

Always be joyful. 17 Keep on praying. 18 No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

They will neither hunger nor thirst. The searing sun and scorching desert winds will not reach them anymore. For the Lord in his mercy will lead them beside cool waters.

. . . . “I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.

APRIL Words for Thought

Nothing speaks more clearly of God’s love than the cross.

To keep spiritually fit, walk daily with Christ.

Faith in Christ is the only ticket to heaven.

Give you all for Jesus, He gave all for you!!

APRIL Poem

The Time to Pray

When the sun comes peeping o’er the hills

To herald the approach of day,

And the silvery moon fades in the sky,

Just then is the to pray.

Ere the toils of life come crowing in

And the day speeds on in its flight,

The strength one finds when alone with God

  Is sufficient for the fight.

So I’ll steal away while the day is young

And bow at the Master’s feed.

I’ll ask for the grace He’ll give me

To face each trial I’ll meet

He’ll fill my soul with peace and joy,

A peace that I could not know

Apart from Jesus the Prince of Peace,

As on through the day I go.

 JOY

The joy of the Lord is your strength.  Where do the saints get their joy?  If we did not know some Christians well, we might think from just observing them that they have no burdens al all to bear.  But we must lift the veil from our eyes.  The fact that the peace, light, and joy of God is in them is proof that a burden is there as well.

The burden that God places on us squeezes the grapes in our lives and produces the wine, but most of us see only the wine and the burden.  No power on earth or in hell can conquer the Spirit of God living within the human spirit; it creates and inn invincibility.  If your life is producing only a whine, instead of the wine, then ruthlessly kick it out.  It is definitely a crime for a Christian to be weak in God’s strength.                                                 Oswald Chambers

Have a blessed month.
