GOD's W.I.T. 1997 Issues
April 1st Issue
"And He
is the head of the body, the church." (Col. 1:18)
Jesus is the one we
come to worship. He is the one we study about, sing about, pray to share,
confess to and live for. Why? He is the Head of the body, the church. But who is
the church?
The church is the body of baptized believers who've
covenanted together to carry out the Master's plan of redemption. The church is
the living body who fellowships, feeds on the Word, worships, evangelizes,
trains, baptizes and ministers in Jesus' name. The church is the people of
God.
Let us remember who Jesus is and who we are. The we can have
assurance who the church is and who the Head is. As the church body gathers,
I'll see you at the scheduled gathering, with the HEAD.Jesus will encourage us
and the Holy Spirit will empower us for our mission.
Love ya!

"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will
not depart from it" Proverbs 22:6 NKJV.
Children are our future. If
Christ tarries with regard to his second coming, today's youth and children will
be left to lead the church and our country. Now, how well they lead will depend
much on their training in the home, the school and the church. Are we doing a
good job preparing them for their role for Jesus? Where are our children during
family altar time? Where are our children during Sunday School and worship time?
Please read the verse above again? Our example before them and our training them
will make a large impact on them coming to experience Jesus in salvation. Our
ways toward them with God's word and example will determine their attitude and
ways relating to church work for Jesus.
Dear parents, God will hold you
and I responsible for our encouraging them or our discouraging them to attend to
the things of God? Is your child a Christian? Can they give testimony in both
lip and life to God's saving grace? We are responsible for them before God. Our
children (and youth) need us . Let us pray for them. Let us not let them down
nor let the Lord down.
Let's get children and youth in our Sunday School,
worship and prayer times. Let's pray for them at the family altar and at God's
altar!! Then we can claim the promise above!!

".... Having been born again, not of corruptible
seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever"
(1Peter 1:23 NKJV)
We are saved by the cross and the power of the
resurrection! Amen! But the proclamation and witness of the Holy Spirit in
conviction of the sinner's heart is through the word of God! The word of God is
alive and cuts and pricks our hearts when delivered taught, preached, read, and
welcomed.
Why do we study the Bible on Sunday's, on Wednesday's? Why do
we hear sermons from the Bible? Why do we read our Bibles? Is all of this just
to gain knowledge? No! No! We are to receive the word of God and then share the
word of God to our enemies!
No one can be born again without the word of
God! No one can enter heaven without God's word!! We must have received the
truth of Christ found in the word of God! Have you been set free from sin? Have
you been washed in the blood? Have you been born again? If not, then get to the
word of God!! Claim John 3:16!! Claim John 1:12!! Believe the work of Jesus and
experience His resurrection power of deliverance!!
Every believer's duty
to Christ is to share the word of God! He, Jesus, will hold us accountable on
JUDGEMENT DAY! Let go with God's word today! Hungry souls need the WORD today!!
Be sure to spend time daily with prayer in God's word! Let's make a difference!!

POEM FOR
JUNE
The best advice I ever had
Was given to me by
my dad;
These occasions being rare,
I listened with the greatest
care.
My dad began by telling me
About his life, that I might
see
The things he did, both bad and good,
While wondering if I
understood.
"Let heart and conscience be your guide;
Be not possessed
with foolish pride.
Do the things that you must do,
Ignore what others
think of you.
Nor be ashamed of our ideas,
But live them and expel
your fears.
Your life is yours and yours alone--
A treasure God has made
your own.
If you are wrong but think you're right,
Instinct calls to
stand and fight,
But better to surrender pride
And try to see the other
side."
These were the words my father told
And I have treasured them
as gold:
And somewhere, in a Far-Off land,
My father knows I
understand.

"But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to
everlasting upon them that fear Him, and His righteousness unto children's
children; to such as keep His covenant, and to those that remember His
commandments to do them." Psalm. 103v17 & 18. God will spare America from
judgment conditionally. We must obey Him and teach each generation His commands.
Yes, Gods' mercy is free, but free to those who'll become free from sin, pride,
and rebellion. God's Word and Gods' expectations of man have not changed. Let us
pray and warn others of the need to repent and live right in fear before God.
Then maybe His mercy will spare us a little longer from His wrath to come. Jesus
is our only HOPE!

"I therefore, the prisoner of the
Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called .
. .” Eph.4: 1. God calls us to salvation. We are then called to serve Him
through His visible local body-the church. The characteristics of that serving
are found in verses 2 & 3 of Eph. 4. It is a great joy to serve the King of
Kings and Lords of Lords! When we carry out His plan for our lives, we have
meaning and purpose to true living. We assist others in their faith. We glorify
Christ. When we flounder in our service to Christ, we wander in the wilderness,
We are not fruitful. So let’s get in God’s Word, Pray and be Faithful Worshiper
and Workers in the church. That’s when we’ll find Gods’ best for us! God Bless

True friends are like diamonds, Precious but
rare; false friends are like autumn leaves, found everywhere. "A friend is a
person who does his knocking before he enters instead of after he leaves."
Friendship is loyal. A real friend is loyal through thick and thin. He will
stand by you in the hour of need. He will help you when you are down. He will
celebrate with you when you are up. Friendship is . . patience with one's friend
when he is right, patience with him even when he is wrong. . . friendship is
rankless. Friendship is helpful. Friendships develop among people who strengthen
one another. - - Franklin Owen.
Questions: With the above descriptions,
how would you rate yourself as a friend with: Jesus? His church? Your neighbors?
Your co-workers? Your schoolmates? Your family? The poor? The lonely? The
imprisoned? The sick? The lost? The needy? Other brethren?
All of us need
friends. And we need to be a friend. Jesus is the best of all friends. Let us
serve him, trust him and share him. Trust him today with a full commitment of
true repentance and faith. He will save you. You will know it with- out a
doubt!

Words ForThought For September!
Happiness is
not the GOAL OF LIFE - GODLINESS is!
When we keep our mind on God, God
keeps our mind at peace.
To tackle lives problems, trust GOD'S
promises.
Salvation is the miracle of moment; growth is the labor of a
lifetime.
Each day is a gift from the one who knows exactly what we
need.
God always provides what He promises.
We sow the seed, but
God brings the Harvest.
We don't know what the future holds, bur we know
who holds the future.
What you do with Christ now will determine what he
with you later.
A true Christian is a person who is right-side up in
upside-down world.
To enjoy the future, accept GOD'S forgiveness for the
past.
We are to be channel of God's truth, not reservoirs.
God
takes of those who know they can't take care of themselves.

Today, Despair came knocking at my door.
I let her in
just
For a while.
Her tear-stained face held not one smile,
But when I
cried, O Lord, I cannot stand much more,
There came another knocking at
my door.
I ran to open it, and there stood Faith outside.
I let her in,
and we sat down beside
Despair who quickly said,
I must away,
For I
have many more to see today.
And as she left, I felt such
Peace
inside.
Today, Despair came knocking at my door,
And for a while I heard
her Every word.
But when my anguished heart cried, Help
Me, Lord!
Faith came a -
Knocking at
My door. Her face serene and wise,
Brought peace
And caused my wondering why To cease.
Despair can
never stay with Faith
In sight.
Faith penetrates the gloom with heavenly
light.
'Tis true, Despair did come to
Visit me,
But Faith came too, and
brought
Me victory.

Newspapermen went down from London to report at first hand the
marvelous happenings of the great Welsh revival at the turn of the century. On
their arrival in Wales one of them asked a policeman where the Welsh revival
was. Drawing himself to his full height he laid his hand over his heart and
proudly proclaimed: "Gentlemen, the Welsh revival is inside this uniform!" He
had caught the holy fire. We need revival. But her's the questions, do we want
revival? And are we willing to pay the price for revival? II Chorn. 7:14 tells
us how. Let us pray, repent, and believe. Then the Lord may visit us when He
sees that we are serious with actions that match our words. May revival come our

It's this happy time of year
again
When children find in play
That all the world is wonderful...
On
each October day
And, oh, what bit of loveliness
That autumn gives
away
With every leaf that flutters down.
On each October
day.
Surrounded by a wealth of gold
And crimson's bright array,
Each
child is touched by magic there...
On each October day.
And all too soon
the weeks will pass
As autumn slips away,
Yet promise happy
memories...
Of each October day.

" Finally,
brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be
glorified, just as it is with you, . . . "(2 Thess. 3:1 NKJV)
I need your
prayers. You need my prayers. We need each other's prayers. Praying is a
necessary ingredient for power and results with God. All of our efforts in the
name of Jesus are fruitless without Gods' anointing. His grace desires to touch
us by way of the Holy Spirit. His reviving Spirit of power is anxious to refresh
us in the work. But there is cost. We must spend much time in prayer. Prayer
fastens the soul to the feet of the Savior. Here we learn to trust, worship,
give, obey, praise, learn, gain power, get spiritual insight and know the heart
of God. Prayer leads us to Godly repentance, bold confession, and positive
response t the commands of Jesus. Genuine prayer blesses the soul and opens the
door for God to fulling His purposes for our lives. Joy and all the fruit of the
Spirit will come forth as a result of Gods' fill us because of heart surrendered
prayer. I shall continue to pray for you. Thank you for praying for me. The
future is brightest and the moment is most precious when we are remembering each
other in prayer! Let's enjoy the Lord and each other in prayer! Let us glorify

WORDS FOR THOUGHT FOR
NOVEMBER!
Word well done for Christ will receive a "well done" from Christ.
Spiritual victory comes only to those who are prepared for
battle.
The Bible is meant not merely to inform but to
transform.
If you live for Jesus you'll have no regrets.
Reading
the Bible without meditating on it is like eating without chewing.
It
takes a moment to be saved; it takes lifetime to grow in
Godliness.
Christ is the only door into heaven.
A parent's
greatest responsibility is to point the way to God.
Gratitude to God
leads to growth in Godliness.
The God who sends you will also substain
you.
Sorrow looks back, worry looks around, but faith looks
up.
Because of the cross of Christ, we can become friends of
Christ.
Enthusiasm for Christ is contagious; has anyone caught it from
you?

POEM
By

Perhaps we have not counted
All our blessings one by
one;
Perhaps we have not bothered
To remember whence they come;
And
maybe we have taken
Just for granted all the things
That the good Lord has
created
And the hand of Nature brings:
The autumn hills in glory
robed,
A golden field of grain,
A sunset's dazzling splendor or
The
Milky Way's great plain,
The starry sky's sublimity,
The ocean's mighty
power,
The wonder of creation in
The petal of a flower.
And so if
we have failed to show
By word or act or deed
That we are thankful unto
Him
Who fills our daily need,
May this day show we're grateful
When we
add up all the sum
Of the blessings we remember,
As we count them one by
one.

"Pastor Commentary"
"...Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners..." (I
Tim. 1:15).
As we prepare to celebrate the joy of Jesus' birth, let us
remember His purpose. Jesus came to us in a human body to identify with the
human race. Jesus was like man inform, but different in that He was perfect and
sinless. He was the only one qualified to die on the cross for our
sins.
Because of Jesus'coming, we can find forgiveness, joy, and hope of
enternal life. His crucifixtion and resurrection affirm His Messiahship. Truly,
this was the Son of God. May this be a Season of Joy for all. Trust Him now and
experience the new birth. Then Jesus' birth and life will mean so much more!

WORDS
FOR THOUGHT !
To renew your love for God, review God's love for
you.
There's always enough time to do GOD'S will.
Obedience is the
measure of our love for God.
Nails could not have kept Jesus on the
cross; had love not held Him there!
To make something of your life, give
your life to God.
When you fear God, you have nothing else to
fear.
Give you all to Christ who gave his all for YOU!
The only
way to live forever is to be born again.
Only the bread of life cans
satisfy our spiritual hunger. AMEN
God always performs what he
promises.
The perfect cure for fear is trust GOD!
To be rich in
God is better than to be rich in goods.

POEM
O
little town of Bethlehem,
How still we see thee lie;
Above thy deep and
dreamless sleep
The silent stars go by.
Yet in thy dark streets
shineth
The everlasting light;
The hopes and fears of all the years
Are
met in thee tonight.
O holy child of Bethlehem,
Descend to us,we
pray;
Cast out our sin and enter in,
Be born in us today.
We hear
the Christmas angels
The great glad tidings tell;
O come to us, abide with
us -
Our Lord Emmanuel!
