"......and declared to be the SON OF GOD with
power......" Roman 1:4 NKJV
Dear Brethren: Jesus affirmed who He was by His
power. He did many wonderful works. He arose from the dead! He now empowers His
church. Let us affirm who we are ......the people of God! Let us affirm our
identity through the power of the Holy Spirit for 1997! We have much to do and
we need HIS power to enable us. Let us pray and seek the Lord's face as we are
upon our knees. God will then give us our greatest year yet. God bless you.
Thanks for a wonderful 1998! Now in faith we shall obey and have a fantastic
1998!

Word for thought for January
98!
To have a heart for God, give God your
heart.
God love is persistent but never pushy.
Only Christ writes
life real success stories.
Dedication to Christ is not a one-time choice
but a daily challenge.
Without Christ we're not ready to die; with Christ
we have every reason to live.
If you say, " I'm no worse than the rest,"
You'll fail life's ultimate test.
Faith in God is the essential element
for spiritual change.
If Christ is the center of your life, you'll always
be focused on Him.
God keeps his WORD. You can count on it!
Give
sin an inch and it will take a mile.

POEM
Sometimes, when heart are weak,
He
gives the very gifts
believers seek.
But often faith
Must learn a
deeper rest
And trust God's silence
When he doesn't speak;
For he whose
name is Love
Will send the best.
Stars may burn out, nor mountain walls
endure,
But God is true,
His promises are sure . . .
. . . for those
seek .

FOR
WITHOUT ME, YOU CAN DO NOTHING." John 15:5 NKJV Greetings in the name of Jesus!
What a great year that is before us! There is so much work to do and so many
lost people, unchurched people and people with needs! And there are so few
people, so little money and resources to help with these needs. We need God!
Prayer is the key. We need to pray for ourselves, others, and praise the Lord
for the victory we will ask for! We need to choose prayer partners within our
church. We need to pray in our Sunday School Classes. Every committee and every
oraganization within our church needs to pray for the Lord's guiding and
anointing and blessing! When we pray both privately and publically and we are
repentant and committed, God will take note. He will forgive, heal, and move
upon you and I. Please join me in praying for power, for more labores, for lost
souls to be saved and for the body of Christ to be built up and honor our Lord!
Amen! Thank you for your love and let us remember the words of Jesus,
God Bless

Word for thought for February
98!
Live today as if you will stand
before God tomorrow.
What important is not how muck we do for God, but
how much God does through us.
Ever when you feel you have nothing left,
you have prayer-and that's enough.
People who think they don't need God
are in a no-win situation.
Opinions are a dime a dozen but God's truth is
priceless!
The blood of Christ makes us safe: the word of Christ makes us
sure.
A change life is the results of a change heart.
When you
take a stand for Christ, He stands with you.
If you are mature in your
faith, help other to mature in their faith.

" Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word
of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you, . . . "(2
Thess. 3:1 NKJV)
I need your prayers. You need my prayers. We need each
other's prayers. Praying is a necessary ingredient for power and results with
God. All of our efforts in the name of Jesus are fruitless without Gods'
anointing. His grace desires to touch us by way of the Holy Spirit. His reviving
Spirit of power is anxious to refresh us in the work. But there is cost. We must
spend much time in prayer.
Prayer fastens the soul to the feet of the
Savior. Here we learn to trust, worship, give, obey, praise, learn, gain power,
get spiritual insight and know the heart of God. Prayer leads us to Godly
repentance, bold confession, and positive response t the commands of Jesus.
Genuine prayer blesses the soul and opens the door for God to fulling His
purposes for our lives. Joy and all the fruit of the Spirit will come forth as a
result of Gods' fill us because of heart surrendered prayer.
I shall
continue to pray for you. Thank you for praying for me. The future is brightest
and the moment is most precious when we are remembering each other in prayer!
Let's enjoy the Lord and each other in prayer! Let us glorify His
name.
God bless you and all of our prayer warriors!

Joy comes by putting Jesus first, others second and
yourself last. Joy comes by putting Jesus first, others

understood King David to speak concerning the resurrection. And Peter affirmed
that Jesus did indeed arise from the dead. The truth of the resurrection gave

AT EASTER TIME
The little flowers came
through the
ground,
At Easter time, at Easter time:
They raised their heads and looked
around,
At happy Easter time.
And every pretty bud did say,
"Good
people, bless this holy day,
For Christ is risen, the angels say
At happy
Easter time!
The pure white lily raised its cup
At Easter time, at
Easter time:
The crocus to the sky look up
At happy Easter time.
"We'll
hear the song of Heaven!" they say
"Its glory shines on us today.
Oh! may
it shine on us always.
At holy Easter time!
'Twas long and long and
long ago,
That Easter time, that Easter time:
But still the pure white
lilies blow
At happy Easter time.
And still each little flower doth
say
"Good Christians, bless this holy day,
For Christ is risen, the angels
say
At blessed Easter time!"
PASSAGE FOR MONTH OF APRIL
Luke 10:38-42 STARTS THE DAY
RIGHT!
How do you start your day? Do you think about your busy schedule and
problems you may face through your day? I want you to meet two sisters. Martha
was preparing a meal to serve their quest, Jesus. (You know she was concerned to
have things just right.)
It says in verse 40, she was "cumbered". The
Dake's Commentary Bible says "distracted, over charged with care." Mary, on the
other hand sat at His feet and listened to Him. (verse 39).
This lesson
for this month passage is this:
1. Put God's Word first, by reading the
Bible and talking to Him in prayer; Matthew 6:33 "Seek ye first the kingdom of
God and His righteousness."
2. Give your worries and problems to God.
1Peter 5:7 cast the whole of our care, all anxieties on Him for He cares for
YOU." (Amplified Bible.)
He will give you peace! Isiah 26:3 "You will
keep in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee."
Which will you be:
Mary or Martha?

"Love

need love. Even the ones who are strangers need love. The love of Jesus with the
gospel message is a great means to love and meet the needs of people. Let us

who first loved us. Let us love Jesus with the some loves He love us. Thank you

A MOTHER'S LOVE
A Mother's love is something A
Mother's love is something
that no one can explain,
It is made of deep
devotion
And of sacrifice and pain,
It is endless and unselfish And
enduring come what may
For nothing can destroy it
Or take that love away
. . .
It is patient and forgiving
When all others are forsaking,
And it
never fails or falters
Even though the heart is breaking . . .
It believes
beyond believing
When the world are condemns,
And it glows with all the
beauty
Of the rarest, brightest gems . . .
It is far beyond
defining,
It defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret
Like
the mysteries of creation . . .
A many splendored miracle
Man cannot
understand
And another wondrous evidence
Of God's tender guiding hand.
TIME OUT FOR
MOMS
"Motherhood is an illegitimate profession!" roared the
radical women's movement as it deceptively told us that being a feminist was
about choices, Somehow the choice to be a mom - particularly at "at-home" mom
was categorized as a second-class choice. The sentiment was that one could be a
mom but that being a brain surgeon or a fire fighter validated the "mom" part of
the choice.
As result, the last 20 years have bruised many women. The
dominant culture shouted a message of self- actualization that could only be
found outside the home. TV commercials reinforced the myth. We were told that
"we deserved a break today" and that we should "grab' for all the gusto" we
could. Even a hair-coloring product put self on an exalted level by telling us,
"Frankly, I'm worth it!"
Images of mom changed. Instead of June Clever
and Harriet Nelson, the new mom looked like "Roseanne" -loud, crass and uncouth.
Or worse still-Peg Bundy in "Married with Children." (Now there is a truly
dysfunctional family!)
With sophisticated seduction, even breakfast
products whispered, "Get out of the kitchen." No longer was Mom seen preparing
the morning meal. She simply threw some fruit thing into the toaster. grabbed
her briefcase and ran out the door in her business suit.
Yet even while
the howling winds of the cultural elite continue to whirl around our tents, our
role as mother continues.
For the "at-home" mom, there is no pay check
that helps re-enforce worth. We do not get a progress report from our two- year-
old saying, "Great work on shoe trying this week, Mom! And loneliness can be a
constant companion.
For the working mom, there is often the longing to be
home but the economic necessity to work, there is the tension of trying to
balance demands the of the workplace and the needs of the home. And guilt can be
a constant companion.
So, dear fellow Mom's, let's take a moment to
review the joys of motherhood. Our children are priceless treasures. No radical
movement can ever minimize what women have known since the beginning of
time-that the opportunity to shape the heart and mind of our child is the most
important, the most fulfilling and the most humbling experience we will ever

Passage For The Month
Matthew 27:
15-17.21 & 22 CHOICES
We make them everyday: what to
eat what to wear, etc. A man name Pilate had to choose at Passover: release
Jesus, the of God, or Barabbas, a notorious criminal. We are all guilty of
condemning an innocent person to die.
He also looked for the truth. "What
is truth?" he asked. (John 18:38)
The truth of this message is that Jesus
died in our place so we can have eternal life. " For the Son of man came to seed
and to save that which was lost." (Luke 19:10) If you confess with your mouth
the Lord Jesus, and believe in you heart God raised Him from the dead, you shall
be saved." (Romans 10:9) Now is the accepted time: now is the day of salvation."
(2 Corinthians 5:21)
I ask you today to make the right choice by asking
Jesus to come in your hear to be your Lord and Savior.
Yours in Christ
Nancy

"Pastor
Commentary"
A little boy, having been told that the church
was God's house asked : "When's he going to move in?" Now we know that God is in
Christ and Christ is in every believer (II Cor. 5:19, Rom. 8:10). And Jesus is
Lord and the Head of the Church. We must acknow- ledge God's presence in the
church and in our lives. As Christ is manifested through us and before us in
worship and Godly living, then those around us will see Christ and know He is
real, alive and ready to save. In a sense, we must let God move in. There must
be a daily surrender to let Christ have absolute control of our lives. We must
let Him move in His Church. When you take vacation, take the Lord with you. Let
He who indwells you reveal Himself unto others through you. And remember your
command post back home, the church, in your prayers, financial gifts and
substituter to cover your area of work. As we work together may we hear others
say about us and our church, God has not only moved in; He's reigning as King
and Lord of His people both at the church and in the church on mission.

FATHER ARE WONDERFUL
PEOPLE
Fathers are wonderful people
too little
understood,
And we do not sing their praises
as often as we should . .
.
For, somehow, Father seems to be
the man who pays the bills,
While
Mother binds up little hurts
and nurses all our ills . . .
And Father
struggles daily
to live up to 'HIS IMAGE'
As protector and provider
and
"hero of the scrimmage" . . .
And perhaps that is the reason
we sometimes
get the notion
That Fathers are not subject
to the thing we call
emotion,
But if you look inside Dad's heart,
where no else can
see,
You'll find he's sentimental
and as "soft" as he can be . . .
But
he's so busy every day
in the grueling race of life,
He leaves the
sentimental stuff
to his partner and his wife . . .
But Fathers are just
WONDERFUL
in a million different ways,
And they merit loving
compliments
and accolades of praise,
For the only reason Dad aspires
to
fortune and success
Is to make the family proud of him
and to bring them
happiness . . .
And like OUR HEAVENLY FATHER,
he's a guardian and a
guide,
Someone that we can count on
to be ALWAYS ON OUR
SIDE

" I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye
walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called . . ." Eph.4:1. God calls us
to salvation. We are then called to serve Him through His visible local body-the
church. The characteristics of that serving are found in verses 2 & 3 of
Eph. 4. It is a great joy to serve the King of Kings and Lords of Lords! When we
carry out His plan for our lives, we have meaning and purpose to true living. We
assist others in their faith. We glorify Christ. When we flounder in our service
to Christ, we wander in the wilderness,. We are not fruitful. So let's get in
God's Word, Pray And be Faithful Worshiper and Workers in the church. That's
when we'll find Gods' best for us!

Word for thought for JULY 98!
People with a heart for God have a heart for
people.
Only as we follow Christ can we lead other in the right
direction.
A selfish heart loves for what it can get; a Christ like heart
loves for what it can give.
When it seems you can't forgive, remember how
much you been forgiven.
A little sin never says little.
We are
saved by God's work, not by good works.
Confessing our sins to God always
brings cleansing from God.
Prayer in Jesus is a direct line to
God.
Sin brings fear; confession brings freedom.
You can't lose if
you stay with God's game plan.
The measures of God's love is that he
loves without measures.
No one is too good or too bad to qualify for
salvation.
Praise to God comes naturally when you count your
blessing.

PRAYER ARE THE STAIRS TO GOD
Prayers are the stairs
We must climb every
day,
If we would reach God
There is no other way,
For we
learn to know God
When we meet Him in prayer
And ask Him to
lighten
Our burden of care -
So start the morning And, though the
way's steep,
Climb ever upward
'Til your eyes close in
sleep-
For prayers are the stairs
That lead to the
Lord,
And to meet Him in prayer
Is the climber's
reward.

Pastor Commentary
WHAT DO YOU WANT YOUR CHILD TO BE?
President Theodore Roosevelt had four sons. He was very proud when the first three
sons announced their intention to join the military. But, when his fourth son also decided to
join the army, the old Rough-Rider balked. "Not all my boys," he said to his
wife. But she replied, "Ted, if you
raise them as eagles you can't
expect them to fly like sparrows." Every parent should have a dream for
their children. Isaiah put it this
way, "And all your sons will be
taught of the Lord: and the well-being of your sons will be great"
(Isa.54:13). Three things I want
you to consider:
1. You announce what you want your child to
be by the way you teach him. It
is not the church's responsibility to teach your children. It is mother and father.
2. You announce what you want your child to
be by the example you set. It
is
amazing how some parents put ball games, camping, trips, and golf games. and
fishing
trips above attending worship, and then are amazed that their
children
leave the church. Someone wrote, "What you are thunders so loudly that I cannot
hear
what you say."
3. You announce what you want your child to
be by the plans you make for
him. Your children know if something is really important to you. Have you been
saying from the time they started school, "Now make good grades so some day you
can go
to college." They know you want
them to get a college education.
But
what
about your spiritual dreams for them?
Have you encouraged term to be a
preacher, a missionary, Bible school teacher, etc." By your plans, you have
told them what you think is important.

"Whom
do you know who is in need of hope?"
We all need hope! People need hope
when they have experienced failure, especially failure they have brought on
themselves by refusing to OBEY God as the people of Judah had done (See Jeremiah
7:1-15**).
People need hope when things in their life get out of their
control. Think of verses that help in this situation and make a list of them to
look back on when every thing seems to be out of control in your
life.
Remember when things seem out of your control; always look to the
Lord and PRAY to the Lord. (Jeremiah 29:7 ... Pray to the LORD for it, because

**:1This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD:
2
"Stand at the gate of the LORD's house and there proclaim this message: " `hear
the word of the LORD, all you people of Judah who come through these gates to
worship the LORD.
3 This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says:
Reform your ways and your actions, and I will let you live in this place.
4
Do not trust in deceptive words and say, "This is the temple of the LORD, the
temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD!"
5 If you really change your ways
and your actions and deal with each other justly,
6 if you do not oppress the
alien, the fatherless or the widow and do not shed innocent blood in this place,
and if you do not follow other gods to your own harm, 7 then I will let you live
in this place, in the land I gave your forefathers forever and ever.
8 But
look, you are trusting in deceptive words that are worthless.
9 " `Will you
steal and murder, commit adultery and perjury, A burn incense to Baal and follow
other gods you have not known,
10 and then come and stand before me in this
house, which bears my Name, and say, "We are safe"--safe to do all these
detestable things?
11 Has this house, which bears my Name, become a den of
robbers to you? But I have been watching! declares the LORD.
12" `Go now to
the place in Shiloh where I first made a dwelling for my Name, and see what I
did to it because of the wickedness of my people Israel.
13 While you were
doing all these things, declares the LORD, I spoke to you again and again, but
you did not listen; I called you, but you did not answer.
14 Therefore, what
I did to Shiloh I will now do to the house that bears my Name, the temple you
trust in, the place I gave to you and your fathers.
15 I will thrust you from
my presence, just as I did all your brothers, the people of Ephraim.

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up. (James 4:10)
How do you rate your prayer life? How would others rate your prayer life?
The
number one weapon in any spiritual endeavors is prayer. Paul in Ephesians
6:18-20(*) encouraged his friends to pray in the Spirit. Remember God’s armor is spirit of
prayer!
A typical prayer patterns of average Christians are sometimes inconsistent. We may pray over meals, at bedtime, or some kind of trouble shows up. You should pray for all occasions and always keep on praying. Always try to remember these 3 little words: Pray without ceasing(1 Thessalonians 5:17).
If you are armed by Christ, filled with His power, and praying in His Spirit, believers not only will endure but will prevail! We can pray in Spirit by . . .
@ Obeying God’s commands
@ Offering our whole lives to God
@ Confessing sin to God regularly
@ Following the Holy Spirit’s leading
@ Seeking the Holy Spirit’s assistance
@ Asking for those things that please God
@ Maintaining a regular time of communication with God
Our prayer life can be more effective if we “pray in Spirit!”
Have blessed month.

MY PRAYER
Take my life and make me, Lord
To Thine Image be conformed.
Let my conduct this day be
Glorifying, Lord, to Thee.
Touch my heart and make it pure.
May my faithfulness encure.
Anoint my head with my grace divine.
Let my will be only Thine.
Take my hands and make them Yours,
Keep them busy with saintly chores.
Touch my eyes and make me see,
The work You’ve planned, just for
me.
Let my lips speak only love,
Encouraging words, sent from above.
May my footsteps ever be,
Guide daily, Lord, by
Thee.
Give me wisdom, Lord, I pray
To live and love for You each day.
Grant these things, I humbly plead.
You know my every want and
need.
And when this earthly life is o’er,
I’ll disembark upon that shore,
To enter my eternal rest,
Content-having done my very
best.

DEVOTION In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you .1 Thessalonian5:18
We should give thanks whether the day go smoothly or we meet aggravating problems. We can be grateful if we’re rich or poor, when we’re feeling well or if our health fails. In every circumstance we can affirm God’s goodness and discover reasons to give thanks to Him.
Consider what the Lord has done
For you and those you love;
Then give Him thanks with hearts of praise
For blessing from above ---Sper
So remember at Thanksgiving to gives thanks and praise for what God has done for you yesterday, today and tomorrow and all things give thanks; no matter how great or how small.

WORDS FOR THOUGHT
God heart is always overflowing with grace.
To understand the word of God, rely on the spirit of God.
Growth that results from waiting on God may be the greatest miracle!
He who fears God has nothing else to fear.
God uses lifes setback to help us move ahead.
Our hearts are restless till the find their rest in God.
Keep your eyes on God, he never takes his eyes of you.
When making a decision, ask "What would Jesus do?"
When God forgiving he removes the sin and restores the Soul.
To see yourself as you really are, look into the mirror of God’s Word.
If you don’t want the fruits of sin; stay out of the devil’s orchard.
Faith in God goodness keeps hope alive.

POEM
THANK YOU, GOD, FOR EVERYTHING
Thank you, God, for everything
the big things and the small,
For "every good gift comes from God"
the giver of them all
And all too often we accept
without any thanks or praise
The gifts God sends as blessing
each day in many ways,
And so at this THANKSGIVING TIME
we offer up a prayer
To thank you, God, for giving us
a lot more than our share . . .
First thank you for the little things
that often come our way,
The things we take for granted
but don’t mention when we pray,
The unexpected courtesy,
the thoughtful, kindly deed,
A hand reached out to help us
in the time of sudden need . . .
Oh, make us more aware, dear God,
of little daily graces
That come to us with "sweet surprise"
from never-dreamed-of places
Then, thank you for the "MIRACLES"
we are much too blind to see,
And give us new awareness
of our many gifts from Thee,
And help us to remember
that the KEY to LIFE and LIVING
Is to make each prayer a PRAYER of THANKS
and every day THANKSGIVING.

Where to look

contains His answers to the problems, questions, and dilemmas that are common to

Words for Thought
Let God
have your life, He can do more with it than you can.
Put your faith in Christ and He will put your fears to rest.
If faith in Christ worth having, its worth sharing.
Salvation is what we receive, not what we achieve.
If we are too busy to pray, we are too busy!
Time spent alone with God can ease the pain of loneliness.
The most powerful position on earth is kneeling before the Lord of the Universe.
You can't repent too soon, but son it may be too late.
If you know that God's hand is in everything, you can leave everything in God's hand.
Because God is with us, we need not fear what is ahead of us.
A life lived for God leaves a lasting legacy.
Death is the last chapter of time, but first chapter of eternity.

Tell Me
Again
Tell me again the story of Christmas,
Sing me the
songs a hundred times,
I want to remember the beautiful things,
Heart
wonder and tinsel and rhymes,
Trim me a tree and light it with love,
Then
Bethlehem won't seem far away,
Give me a manger and give me a star,
Then
it will be real Christmas day!
