Devotion
Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. Colossians 4:2
Why pray? According to
R.A. Torrey a 19th century preacher he gave this reason for
prayer.
Because there is a devil, and prayer is
a God-appointed way to resit Him (Ephesians 6:12-13, 18)**
Because prayer is God’s way or us to
obtain what we need from Him (Luke 11:3-13)**
Because prayer is the means God has
appointed for us to find "grace to help in time of need" (Hebrew
4:16)** Because prayer with thanksgiving is
God’s way for us to obtain freedom from anxiety and to receive "the peace of
God" (Philippians 4:6-7) ** So remember to start each day in prayer.
Start the New Year out right by setting a certain time of day to pray and listen
to what God has to say to you. If possible join a prayer group in your local
church or over the via-a-Internet. Since prayer is God’s most gracious
plan Whereby He links Himself with
man Should not His own more often
say To one another,"Let us pray"?
----Sterling "Our highest privilege is to talk to
God" Have a blessed month. In Christ love, Brother Gerald
** Ephesians 12-13,18 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
** Luke 11:3-13 3Give us each day our daily bread.
4Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation. " 5Then he said to them, "Suppose one of you has a friend, and he goes to him at midnight and says, `Friend, lend me three loaves of bread, 6because a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have nothing to set before him.' 7"Then the one inside answers, `Don't bother me. The door is already locked, and my children are with me in bed. I can't get up and give you anything.' 8I tell you, though he will not get up and give him the bread because he is his friend, yet because of the man's boldness he will get up and give him as much as he needs. 9"So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. 11"Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? 12Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? 13If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"
** Hebrew 4:16 Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
** Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

January Words for Thought
There are no shortcut on the road to spiritual maturity.
God timing is perfect – even in death
Our highest privilege is to talk to God.
Sometimes the best witness is kindness.
When you relate to God as a person, you develop a personal relationship with God.
To cast a good shadow; walk in God’s light.
Doing what’s right today means no regrets tomorrow.
Christian Unity begins at the cross.
Don’t try to everything – Do only what God’s wants you to do.
Jesus gave his life for us so we could have his life in us.
Christians are not sinless, but they should sin less.
When we have nothing left but God, God is enough.
No matter how far you’ve run from God, He’s only a prayer away.

A NEW YEAR’S PRAYER
Dear Lord, please give me . . .and yet remain my friends
A work to do which has real value,
without which the world
would feel the poorer . . .
A mind unafraid to travel,
even though the trail be no blazed
An understanding heart . . .
A sense of humor.
Time for quiet, silent of meditation.
And the patience to wait
for the coming of these things,
with the wisdom to know them
when they come.

"No one is hopeless whose hope is in GOD!
. . . . but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 40:31
For people who feel defeated hope is always there in our God and our Savior Jesus Christ. If you feel defeated the hope of restoration is given in Lamentations 3.
It beings, "This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope"(verse 21). We have hope because of God’s character, which is marked by these traits:
His mercy and compassion (verse 22), faithfulness(verse 23), goodness(verse 25), &
salvation(26).**
Remember God compassions are new every morning and He always gives refreshment of hope. Your faithfulness is the best weapon against has hopelessness. "Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see"(Hebrews 11:1)

**Lamentations 3: 21-26 21Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: 22Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassion’s never fail. 23They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. 24I say to myself, "The LORD is my portion; therefore I will wait for him." 25The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; 26it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD.

Our true characters is revealed in the unguarded moments.

JUST LIKE A GRAIN OF A MUSTARD SEED
It’s just like a grain of a mustard seed,
But my faith can push mountains away . . .
Mountains of fears,
Of doubts and of tears-
My faith helps me through every day.
And just like again of a mustard seed,

God’s word does reveal
Through my faith God will heal-
And more move mountains of turmoil from me.

Invest I the future—lead a child to Christ.
Whether sins are great or small, Jesus can forgive them all.
The Spirit of God enables the people of God to understand the words of God
If God seems far away, guess who moved?
If we depend on Christ for everything, we can endure anything.
Our Jesus can satisfy our thirst for God.

When you walk with Christ, you’ll be out of step with the world.
Fools twist God’s grace to live as they please; the wise trust God’s Grace and live as he pleases.

WHAT IS PRAYER?
Is it-measured words that are memorized,
Forcefully said and dramatized,
Offered with pomp and arrogant pride
In words unmatched to the feelings inside?
No . . . prayer is so often just words unspoken
Whispered in tears by a heart that is broken . . .
For God is already deeply aware
Of the burdens we find too heavy to bear,
And all we need do is to seek Him in prayer
And without a word he will help us to bear
Our trails and troubles---our sickness and sorrow
And show us the way to a brighter tomorrow . . .
There’s no need at all for IMPRESSIVE PRAYER
For the minute we seek God HE IS ALREADY
THERE!

Good can come out of failure!
Since time we were children we were taught to avoid failure. Failure can strike a blow at everyone in our homes, churches, and places of business. Failure is not final. God can use failure and to restore us to usefulness.(**Read John 18:15-18,25,27)
The response of some people who experience failure is to withdraw from others. It’s a way to deal with embarrassment and regain their composure before facing others. Failure can result from a lack of confidence and from fear. Many adults fail because they lack confidence to stand up for what they know is true and right! Remember failure is not final! (**Read John 21:15-17)
God understands that people fail and stand ready to help them rebound from failure! With God’s help, people who experience failure can make failure a new beginning. Failure should lead to renewed commitment(**Read John 21:18-22)
FIVE STEPS TO RENEWING MY COMMITMENT:
I can renew my commitment to by . . .
* Acknowledging my failures
* Recognizing my place before God
* Choosing to focus on God’s purpose for me
* Removing all that hinders my service to God
* Praying that God will give me new opportunities
What other steps can you take to renew your commitment??
Remember:
We can move beyond failure to purpose if we will:
@ Get up! Refuse to stay down when we experience failure.
@ Get real! Don't sulk. Remember that everyone fails sometimes.
@ Get away! Spend time alone with God evaluating the reasons for our failures.
@ Get rid! Remove habits, actions, or attitudes that may cause us to repeat our failures.
@ Get help! Ask trusted friends to hold us accountable.
@ Get busy! Roll up our sleeves and get back to work.
@ Get serious! Apply the lessons we learn from our failures.
Failure can be useful for God’s purpose.
Have a blessed month.
In Christ love,
Brother Gerald
**15Simon Peter and another disciple were following Jesus. Because this disciple was known to the high priest, he went with Jesus into the high priest's courtyard, 16but Peter had to wait outside at the door. The other disciple, who was known to the high priest, came back, spoke to the girl on duty there and brought Peter in.
17"You are not one of his disciples, are you?" the girl at the door asked Peter.
He replied, "I am not."
18It was cold, and the servants and officials stood around a fire they had made to keep warm. Peter also was standing with them, warming himself. 25As Simon Peter stood warming himself, he was asked, "You are not one of his disciples, are you?" 27Again Peter denied it, and at that moment a rooster began to crow. John 18: 15-18,25,27
**15When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me more than these?" "Yes, Lord," he said, "you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Feed my lambs." 16Again Jesus said, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me?" He answered, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Take care of my sheep." 17The third time he said to him, "Simon son of John, do you love me?" John 21:15-17
**18I tell you the truth, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go." 19Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. Then he said to him, "Follow me!"
20Peter turned and saw that the disciple whom Jesus loved was following them. (This was the one who had leaned back against Jesus at the supper and had said, "Lord, who is going to betray you?") 21When Peter saw him, he asked, "Lord, what about him?" 22Jesus answered, "If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me." John 21:18-22

Thought on Thankfulness
The Holy Spirit lead me to put this devotion out this month please give credit to Charles H. Spurgeon and read this article in Christ.
It is easy to sing when we can read the notes by daylight; but he is skillful who sings when there is not a ray of light to read by, who sings from his heart. No man can make a song in the night of himself; he may attempt it, but he will find that a song in the must be divinely inspired. Let all things go well, I can weave songs, fashioning them wherever I go out of the flowers that grow on my path; but put me in a desert, where no green things grows, and wherewith shall I frame a hymn of praise to God?
No, it is not in man’s power to sing when all is adverse . . .Since our Maker gives songs in the night, let us wait on Him for the music . . .Let us not remain songless because affliction is upon us, but tune our lips to the melody of thanksgiving.
Charles H. Spurgeon
Have a blessed month.

JUNE Words for Thought
We our saved by Christ dying, not our doing.
God’s dawn of deliverance often comes when the hour of trial is darkness.
A sure sign of spiritual growth is ability to take criticism.
Jesus said "Go into all the world" (Mark 16:15) The world beings where your front yard ends.
There is no better time to praise God than right now.
True repentance turns from the wrong and returns to the right.
Nothing is more pleasing to; God than self-sacrifice.
Praying is talking to best friend.
We don’t really know the Bible unless we obey the Bible.
To experience God’s strength we must recognize our weakness
A watching Christian will be a working Christian.
You can do what you want when you want to please God.

JUNE Poem
With Thankful Heart
For all the simple things of life
We thank Thee God this day;
For tender fragile moments
So soon do pass away.
For a all the treasured, cherished things
Which give our hearts delight;
The magic warmth of Christmastime
And glow of candlelight.
For signs of spring and birds that sing
Tho’ winter winds still blow;
The robin comes when first we see
A crocus in the snow.
For pleasing scent of burning leaves
From autumn’s golden store;
And sweet caress of summer
With walks along the shore.
For gentle sleep which eases care
When we are tired and worn;
And coffee brewing on the stove
Upon a winter morn.
For welcome laughter of our friends
The touch of baby’s cheek;
For those who pass us on the street
And smile where’re we speak.
For soothing strains of music
Which fall upon our ears
Compassion share by those we love
And flowing of healing tears.
We thank Thee God for hands and feet
For eyes with which we see;
But most of all, Dear Father
For joy of loving thee!

Plan to Pray
Christians
should make a plan to pray at a certain time of day and pick a certain place to
pray in their home. In the Bible
Daniel had a specific time for prayer (Daniel 6:10). Also he followed a schedule for prayer;
indicates in Psalm
55:17.
Remember
prayer is Christian open line to heaven. So start today and make a plan to pray
on regular schedule. Failure to
establish good spiritual habits will lead to poor spiritual
health.
PUTTING IT
INTO PRACTICE
When is
the best time for you to pray each day?
Set aside
that time as an appointment with God.
Then ask
God to help you keep your
commitment.
Plan your praying, then pray your
plan!
Have a
blessed
month.
In Christ

Thought On
Obedience
Whosoever keeps the whole law yet offends at one point is fuilty of all (see James 2:10). He is reightly subject of the hole penalty. If he habitually disobeys us God in one thing, then he doesn’t obey him in anything, because obedience to God consists in an attitude of the heart. It is willingness to obey God, to let him rule everything. So if a person habitually disobeys God in one thing, his state of heart renders obedience in anything else impossible, because a person can’t in one area obey God out of respect for his authority while in another area refuse obedience.
Obedience to God is an
obedient state of heart, a preference for God’s authority and commandments over
everything else. If a person
therefore appears to obey in some areas yet he knowingly disobeys in others, yet
he is deceived. He offends in one
point, and this proves he is guilty of all; in others words, he doesn’t obey
from the heart at all. If a person
refuses to obey God’s law even a single duty, he has no true faith and his
outwardly spiritual acts are loathsome.
Charles G Finney
Scripture on
obedience:
Love means doing what God has commanded us, and he has commanded us to love one another, just as you heard from the beginning.
2 John 6
Love means doing what God has commanded us, and he has commanded us to love one another, just as you heard from the beginning.
Psalms 119:2
“. . . .what is more pleasing to the Lord: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice?”.

CHANGES
This is a story about change, and as I embraced it once again
my Heavenly Father has shown me that He never makes
mistakes.
For the past seven years I have been living with my unmarried
daughter (my only child). She was there every day for me, supporting,
encouraging, and helping as I cared for her 91 year old Grandmother and her
Father who had Alzheimer disease. The Lord took Mother and Keith home within
three months of one another, and eight months later my daughter fell in love,
got married, and moved out of the country. I faced my worst nightmare...being
alone.
This change not only represented all my hopes, but all my
fears. I cried out,” Dear Lord, take away this fear of being alone, help me to
rest down in your promise never to leave me nor forsake me. I feel these changes
blowing on me, help me to face this and use it to propel me forward." I felt so
fragile, so frightened. Could I support myself alone, how would I do yard work
and heavy cleaning, what if I got sick? I weighted myself down with troubles,
all that I have had, all that I presently had, and all that I expected to have.
The God of my past, present, and future was asking me to walk securely, by
faith, one day at a time. I prayed, I read my Bible, prayed some more, and asked
others to pray for me. I asked myself over and over again, why am I emotionally
reacting this way? It was pointed out to me that I was grieving. The Lord had
taken away my last pillar.... he wanted me to lean on Him only. Not mother, not
husband, not daughter... just Him and him
alone.
One morning through my tears the Lord gave me Isaiah 43:19.
See...I'm doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am
making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland. This was to be a whole
new adventure and I was about to embark upon it with the Captain of my
soul.
It has been four months now, and not only has He turned my
mourning into joy, but as I recall all of these things I have hope.
Someone once said the world could be compared to a great
spider web. If you touch it anywhere you will set the whole thing trembling. So
every day I try to touch someone for Jesus.... who knows where the trembling may
stop?
Indeed
His loving kindness does not cease, his compassion has not failed and they ARE
new every morning. "GREAT IS HIS
FAITHFULNESS."
O most Holy and ever
loving Father, I thank You once more for the new promise that has come with this
new morning and the hope of this new day. May I trust you today for all the
needs of my body, my soul and my spirit? Amen.

Praise Jesus:
I am working with a Christian organization called Youth with A
mission the biggest Protestant organization
in the world. This is a voluntary organization no one gets any
salary but look to God for the
provision. God never failed us thus far. I am so happy to
serve God for full time.
I was saved in the year 1991 when I was 15.I was born and
brought up in a Hindu family. I was very strong in my faith so I persecuted
Christians who came to my village to share God's love. I tore a lot of Christian
literature and was doing physical exercise to beat up
Christians.
I was involved in a militant Hindu organization called
RSS-Rashtria Swamsevak Sangh(means National Volunteer Movement) for 3 years and
actively participated. But a group of Christians were praying for me behind the
scene. One day a friend of mine told me why should I waste my time and
encouraged me to join a school which he attended. So I decided to go with my
mother's permission I joined the school. Soon I came to know it was a Bible
college. I tried to runaway but it was God who kept me there and I was saved
there and was baptized in the year1991.After my Bachelor in Theology studies I
joined in the same college as teaching faculty. Next year I went to do My Master
in Divinity in a Seminary. Soon I was graduated and joined in YWAM (Youth With A
Mission). Now I am serving God by teaching, preaching and evangelism.
My family is not saved except my Mom. Please pray for
them.
I have a great desire in my life is to see India reached with
the Gospel. I am praying to God for the same. I believe God would use me for His
glory to change Million's destiny. Please pray for
me.

The best protection against

The U in
Jesus
Before U were thought of or time had
begun,
God even stuck U in the name of His Son.
And each time U pray, you'll see it's
true
You can't spell out JesUs and not include U.
You're a pretty big part of His wonderful
name,
For U, He was born; that's why He came.
And His great love for U is the reason He
died.
It even takes U to spell
crUcified.
Isn't it thrilling and splendidly grand
He rose from the dead, with U in His
plan.
The stones split away, the gold trUmpet
blew,
and this word resUrrection is spelled with a
U.
When JesUs left earth at His upward
ascension,
He felt there was one thing He just had to
mention.
"Go into the world and tell them it's
true
That I love them all -
Just like I love U.
So many great people are spelled with a
U,
Don't they have a right to know JesUs
too?
It all depends now on what U will do,
He'd like them to know
But it all starts with U.

DEVOTION
In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you .
1 Thessalonian5:18
We should give thanks whether the day go smoothly or we meet aggravating problems. We can be grateful if we’re rich or poor, when we’re feeling well or if our health fails. In every circumstance we can affirm God’s goodness and discover reasons to give thanks to Him.
Consider what the Lord has done
For you and those you love;
Then give Him thanks with hearts of praise
For blessing from above ---Sper
So remember at Thanksgiving to gives thanks and praise for what God has done for you yesterday, today and tomorrow and all things give thanks; no matter how great or how small.
Have a blessed Thanksgiving.
Have blessed month.

NOVEMBER POEM
THANK YOU, GOD, FOR EVERYTHING
Thank you, God, for everything
the big things and the small,
For "every good gift comes from God"
the giver of them all
And all too often we accept
without any thanks or praise
The gifts God sends as blessing
each day in many ways,
And so at this THANKSGIVING TIME
we offer up a prayer
To thank you, God, for giving us
a lot more than our share . . .
First thank you for the little things
that often come our way,
The things we take for granted
but don’t mention when we pray,
The unexpected courtesy,
the thoughtful, kindly deed,
A hand reached out to help us
in the time of sudden need . . .
Oh, make us more aware, dear God,
of little daily graces
That come to us with "sweet surprise"
from never-dreamed-of places
Then, thank you for the "MIRACLES"
we are much too blind to see,
And give us new awareness
of our many gifts from Thee,
And help us to remember
that the KEY to LIFE and LIVING
Is to make each prayer a PRAYER of THANKS
and every day THANKSGIVING.

The spirit lead me to put this devotion out this month please give credit to Dale Robbins and read this article in Christ.
Witnessing: A Matter Of Life Or Death
By Rev. Dale A. Robbins, M.Div.
James 5:20 "Let him know that he who turns
a sinner from the error of His way will save a soul from death and cover a
multitude of sins."
Let’s say that you are out at the lake one-day and you spot a drowning person. What would you do? Would you ignore their desperate condition and turn the other way? Or would you throw them a life preserver? If you are the decent person I imagine that you are, I am confident that you would try to do something to save that poor soul. Similarly, each day you probably come in contact with dozens of people who are drowning without Christ in their life. For them, it’s only a matter of time before they will go down for the last time, unless someone like you, who has a life-preserver, can throw it their way and save their life.
Christ is the Only Answer!
The Bible says that every person who dies without their name written in the book of life will spend all of eternity in the lake of fire. "And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire" (Rev. 20:15). The only way anyone’s name is added to the book of life is by placing their faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord (Rev. 21:27). The Bible says that Jesus is the ONLY way that we can be saved (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). So this means that all those without Christ will be destined to suffer endless torment in the unquenchable flames of Hell forever, and ever, "into the fire that never shall be quenched" (Mark 9:43). God does not want anyone to be lost. "The Lord is... not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9). This is why He sent Jesus to become a sacrifice for the world’s sins (John 3:16). However, who is going to tell them about this life-saving news? Who is willing to throw them the life-preserver that can save their life from the horrible consequences of eternity in the lake of fire? "...how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?" (Romans 10:14).
A Serious Responsibility
The responsibility of delivering the life-saving Gospel to the lost has been committed to all believers. That’s right, ALL believers, not just ordained ministers, evangelists, or missionaries. In fact, the Apostle Paul said that the ministry of reconciling people to God has been given to all those who have been born-again, whose old life has passed away, and all things have become new. "...if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation" (2 Cor.5:17-18). Christians must understand that this is a very serious responsibility. It is a matter of life or death! The consequences of what we do may determine the eternal destiny of our friends, family, or acquaintances. There are individuals who may spend eternity in Heaven with Christ because we told them about Jesus Christ. And even more sobering, there may be those who suffer eternal torment in the lake of fire FOREVER, simply because we couldn’t find the time or were too "embarrassed" to talk about Jesus! Dear believer, was Jesus "embarrassed" of you when He hung on the cross with blood spurting from every part of His body? Did Jesus have a problem "finding time" to suffer for you, as He dangled for hours, nailed to a brutal, splintery cross? Of course not. And neither is there any excuse for any believer who tries to justify their apathy for the lost! It certainly is not your responsibility to tell the whole world about Christ. But it is indeed your duty to tell "your world," those you live with, who you work with, or your friends and family (Mark 16:15). You are their missionary that God has sent to them, and it’s very possible, you may be the only opportunity that some may ever have, to hear the message that could save their life. And if you decide not to say anything, not to warn them, to do nothing, the Bible says that their blood could be on your hands for eternity (Ezek. 3:18-19). Jesus was not ashamed to suffer and die for us, let us neither be ashamed to share His life-saving message to the lost! That’s all He asks. Just share His message. "For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father’s, and of the holy angels" (Luke 9:26).
A Four-Step Plan for Effective, Daily Witnessing
(1) Live an honest and Godly life, daily, before your family, friends, and co-workers, as a good witness and testimony of Jesus. Your efforts to share Christ will have little effect unless they are backed up by a godly, wholesome lifestyle.
(2) Memorize or mark verses in your Bible relating to salvation, and equip yourself with tracts, literature, or invitations to Church that you can distribute or leave in conspicuous locations.
(3) Yield your life to the Holy Spirit daily, and pray fervently that the Lord will cause your path to cross with someone whose heart will be open to the message of Christ.
(4) When the opportunity arises in casual conversations, share your testimony of how you found Christ. If you sense their heart is open, or when they continue to ask questions, go further and invite them to pray and to accept Jesus. Invite persons to Church where they can hear more about salvation and how to serve Christ.

DECEMBER Words for Thought
To trust in God is not a gamble, it’s sure thing.
The most exemplary life is nothing without Christ.
You haven’t really learned the word until you live in it.
All creation is an outstretched finger pointing to God.
God’s law pinpoints our problems; God’s grace provides the solution.
Sin is the disease, Christ is the cure.
True freedom is living in Christ.
Joy comes from the Lord who lives within us, not from what’s happening around us.
When someone does you wrong, do what right -- love him.
Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people.
God gives enough grace for whatever we face.
Many leaders have risen to greatness, only Jesus has risen from the grave!

DECEMBER Poem
Are You My Friend?
My friend I stand in judgment now,
and feel that you're to blame somehow.
On earth I walked with you day by day,
and never did you point the way.
You knew the Lord in truth and glory,
but never did you tell the story.
My knowledge then was very dim,
you could have led me safe to Him.
So as we lived on this earth,
you never told me of this "second birth."
And now I stand this day condemned,
because you failed to mention Him.
We walked by day and talked by night,
and yet you showed me not the light.
You let me live and love and die,
you knew I'd never live on high!
Yes, I called you my friend for life,
and trusted you in joy and strife.
And yet in coming to the end,
I cannot call you now my friend.
